At one time in my life. I considered becoming a Lutheran Pastor as a vocation, but then I started learning about how The Bible had been created and I went to the dark side: I shot television commercials for a living." I begin to doubt what I was being told
I Believe In Jesus
I believe he was sent to us by God in the same way that Buddha, Lao Tzu, Mohammad, Lord Vishnu, etc... were sent to us to enlighten us. I am not sure he died for our sins, but died because of his own arrogance. Still, I believe in his spiritual message, for it is the same message of spirituality comes from the words of Buddha, Lao Tzu, Mohammad, Lord Vishnu, etc... I go to church every day. Every morning, I close my eyes and for two hours quiet my mind and let God/The Universe/Whatever "speak" to me
The [Human] Hands of the Authors....
...is clearly evident in the writing of the Bible. It is this evidence that gives me pause to place credence in everything said about Jesus, yet not in his true (non-ego) spiritual message. In my search of a common message in The Bible(and Torah), the Bhagavad Gita, the Tao Te Ching, The Apocrypha, The Q'oran, The Hadith, The Four Noble Truths and The Eightfold Path, I have found a common message and it is much simpler than The Bible would have most believe. (I even found a credible documentary with scholars of divinity which claims that Jesus studied under Buddha for the 14 years that is missing from accounts of him in the New Testement.) The problem I have, after over thirty years of studying The Bible and it's history, is that so much of The Bible went through close to 400 years of human synthesis before becoming the tome we are now expected to believe.
Human Tendency to Muck Things Up
You need only to look at the news for proof of this. The Bible was not above the politics and egos (including Jesus) of human beings in it's formulation. After, over thirty years of seeking the common message, I have come to believe that there is insipid arrogance in trying to describe in words that which transcends words and even the understanding human beings. When one looks at human history that runs parallel to the creation of The Bible it is easy to see the correlation between it and self-indulgent politics. Still, that doesn't mean we should throw out the baby with the bathwater. There is a clear and over-arching mess in all spiritual tomes:
The Oneness of All of Us
Jesus even referred to this when speaking that we mus have him in our hearts and he says it most succinctly in the Gospel Of Timothy (Not included in the Bible). It is a concept now backed up by the religion of science vis-a-vis quantum mechanics. We are all a part of a single whole.
Simple.
Straight Forward
Non-Complex
Requiring no one beside yourself to understand
So how is it that we can do what we humans do to each other if we are all part of the same whole? Isn't that the fundamental message of Jesus?

The Church of Simplicity
Accessing spirituality (God if you will) is very simple and requires no church, or clergy or anyone enlightened other than yourself to perform. Here is how it works
Close your eyes, clear your mind and let God/The Universe/Whatever Commune with you.
That's it. No complicated rules to tell you how to live your life or to be good. If you truly clear your mind and let God/The Universe/Whatever commune with you, you find yourself do good things, feeling happy not being tormented by temptation; that is if you truly clear your mind. That's the hard part. It's not complicated, but it takes practice to clear your mind of all thought
To start with you can concentrate on your breathing as is taught in deep breathing mediation or you can concentrate on a point of focus such as a candle flame until you fall into a meditative trance. This is the method taught in Transcendental Meditation.
That's it. Try not to complicate it (muck it up)
